WHAT IS PROLON?

It is unique in that usually to achieve these states you would need to   simply only drink water (water-fasting), or  follow a meal plan that restricts your eating to only a few hours per day  (time-based eating)

How was ProLon developed and what is the science?

The ProLon system was developed by, Valter Longo, PhD and director of the Longevity Institute at the University of Southern California - Los Angeles.    Based on over a decade of research and also in partnership with other leading medical institutions such as  Mayo Clinic and the Texas-based MD Anderson Cancer Center, the ProLon, 5 day  fasting mimicking program was born.

The  ProLon system is structured about  putting the body into a state of calorie deficit, however, is precisely balanced in order to ensure it has the nutrients  it needs to optimally burn and use fat, while maintaining  a nutritional balance.

In his book The Longevity Diet, Valter  dives into the specifics of the science underpinning this  method.
